This season dives deep into Benedict's journey, introducing an array of beloved characters from Julia Quinn's enchanting world.
Bridgerton season 4 is set to introduce a host of new characters to Mayfair, with Yerin Ha taking on the leading role of Sophie Baek, Benedict Bridgerton's love interest. The upcoming season, based on Julia Quinn's novels, will focus on Benedict's story and bring more of Quinn's characters to the screen. The new additions include Katie Leung as Lady Araminta Gun, Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li, Isabella Wei as Posy Li, Fiona Marr as Irma Gibbons, David Moorst as Alfie, Susan Brown as Mrs. Crabtree, Billy Boyle as Mr. Crabtree, and Gracie McGonigal as Hazel.
Yerin Ha plays Sophie Baek, a maid who meets Benedict Bridgerton while disguised as the Lady in Silver at the season's first masquerade ball. This encounter sets Benedict on a quest to find the mysterious woman. Ha shared that she decided not to seek advice from previous leads, wanting to "just feel this journey for myself." However, she has been in touch with Phoebe Dynevor, Simone Ashley, and Nicola Coughlan, who informed her that the series' fanbase is "so lovely and supportive."
During an October 2024 interview with Shondaland, Ha recounted finding out she got the lead role for season 4 while having breakfast with her mother in Korea.
"She came out crying, and then after the phone call, she was like, 'We gotta go home. I think I have indigestion,' and so we left."
"It was really beautiful to kind of, I guess share that moment with her."
Before her role in Bridgerton, Ha, an Australian actress, appeared in HBO Max's Dune: Prophecy, Paramount+'s Halo, and the Australian miniseries Stan.
Katie Leung joins the cast as Lady Araminta Gun, a twice-married, twice-widowed mother of two daughters who are both on the marriage mart this season. Lady Araminta, also known as Lady Penwood, is Sophie's stepmother. Leung shared a photo of her character on Instagram ahead of the season 4 premiere, captioned, "This mama ain't messing about." Julia Quinn commented on the post, "You. Are. Epic." Leung is widely recognized for her portrayal of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter film series and her role in the animated series Arcane.
Michelle Mao was chosen to play Rosamund Li, Araminta's eldest daughter. Rosamund is described as a mini-me of her mother and is eager to marry this season. Mao spoke to IMAGINE Magazine about landing the role, stating, "Never in my wildest dreams did I even dare to imagine that I could be on a show as loved and as grand as Bridgerton." Prior to her role in Mayfair, Mao appeared in the 2025 film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey and is set to act in the 2026 film Zi, alongside Haley Lu Richardson.
Isabella Wei is another new addition for season 4, playing Posy Li, Araminta's younger daughter. Posy is characterized as the kinder, chattier, and quirkier of the two Li sisters, though she often finds herself overshadowed by her sister in their mother's eyes. In a January 2026 conversation with Numero Netherlands, Wei shared that she was in New York with her father when she learned of her casting.
"I ran up to his hotel room early in the morning and frantically pounded on his door, then we FaceTimed the family together and squealed and screamed."
She added that she was "so ecstatic." Wei also discussed bringing Posy to life, noting that her "enthusiasm and openness are what make her unapologetically herself."
She added, "I feel so privileged to help craft those moments of joy that come from her."
Wei's previous acting credits include several episodes of Netflix's 1899 and Black Doves, as well as the 2024 film The Crow and the 2025 film High Wire.
Fiona Marr makes her Bridgerton debut as Irma Gibbons, a cook who develops a close relationship with Sophie while they are both working for the Penwoods. Marr has made guest appearances in Apple TV's Silo and Paramount+'s The Gold, and appeared in the 2025 film My Fault: London.
David Moorst portrays Alfie, a witty footman who works alongside Irma and Sophie at Penwood House. Alfie plays a role in encouraging Sophie to attend the masquerade. Moorst has performed in several productions on London's West End, including To Kill a Mockingbird and A Midsummer Night's Dream. He also made a guest appearance in Killing Eve.
Susan Brown takes on the role of Mrs. Crabtree, the nurturing housekeeper at Benedict's country home. Mrs. Crabtree is also instrumental in the developing love story between Benedict and Sophie. Brown has guest-starred in HBO's Game of Thrones and had roles in the 2013 film Belle and the 2011 film The Iron Lady.

Boyle, an Irish actor, has had a career spanning several decades in film, television, and theater. He is best known for holding leading roles in over 15 successful West End productions.
Gracie McGonigal steps into the working class under the ton as Hazel, a maid who becomes a close friend to Sophie. Prior to joining the Bridgerton cast, McGonigal began her career as a London-based musical theater actress, starring in productions such as Into the Woods and Fangirls.
