"I do not want to reconcile," says Brooklyn Beckham as he calls out parents David, Victoria
Former football star David Beckham stepped into the spotlight at the World Economic Forum, igniting chatter over rumors of a family divide. His son Brooklyn recently voiced grievances about feeling stifled and accused his parents of meddling in his marriage. Despite the swirling controversy, Beckham chose silence on the matter.
David Beckham made his first public appearance since his son Brooklyn Beckham's social media post about alleged family feuds, speaking at the World Economic Forum. Brooklyn's post detailed his desire for independence and accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of trying to control his life and ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz. This comes amid years of rumors about a rift within the Beckham family, exacerbated by Brooklyn's absence from family events and social media actions.

Beckham was questioned about the situation as he arrived at the forum. He was asked if he had a message for his son and if he was disappointed about family matters being aired publicly. David Beckham maintained a stoic silence on the matter, offering only a smile as he walked past reporters.

Brooklyn Beckham's recent social media activity brought the alleged family feud to the forefront. He stated his intention to stand up for himself and revealed his plans to reconcile with his family.

"I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."

Brooklyn made accusations against his parents, claiming they attempted to control the narratives surrounding his life. He also alleged they tried to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz. These claims seemed to confirm rumors of tension that began during wedding preparations. Specific points of contention included Nicola's wedding dress and an alleged incident where his mother humiliated him in front of guests.

Following Brooklyn's revelations, he received support from some who praised him for "speaking his truth." Others, however, criticized him, referring to his actions as "nepobaby tantrums."

Rumors of a Beckham family feud have circulated for several years, intensifying since Brooklyn's wedding in 2022. His absence from significant family events, such as his father's 50th birthday, and alleged failure to invite his parents to his vow renewal ceremony, further fueled speculation. His subsequent blocking of David, Victoria, and his siblings on social media also contributed to the ongoing chatter.

Brooklyn concluded his statement with a desire for familial harmony.

"All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."

Neither David nor Victoria Beckham has issued a public response to Brooklyn's remarks to date.

In a separate development, David Beckham's former assistant, Rebecca Loos, commented on Brooklyn's statements. Loos, who previously alleged an affair with David, shared her thoughts on Instagram. She expressed sympathy for Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, stating she knew "too well what they can be like!"

Loos, a former Dutch model who served as David Beckham's personal assistant in 2003, also responded to a commenter on her post. The commenter described Brooklyn's admission as "fascinating."

"The truth always comes out ❤️," Loos wrote in response.

A representative for Loos declined to comment when contacted by PEOPLE. A representative for David and Victoria Beckham did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
