The Grammy Awards are divided into two parts. The first is the premiere ceremony, where most of the 95 awards are given out. It starts at 3:30 p.m. Eastern (12:30 p.m. Pacific) and will stream live on live.grammy.com and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel. Actor Darren Criss will host the premiere. Performers include Grace Potter, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Zara Larsson. The main ceremony will air at 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS. Trevor Noah will host the show, marking his sixth and final year as host. Producers had convinced him to return for one last telecast. This event will feature high-profile performances and tributes.
Top nominees
Kendrick Lamar leads with nine nominations, followed by Lady Gaga with seven and Bad Bunny with six. Other top nominees include Leon Thomas and Sabrina Carpenter, both with six, as well as Clipse, Doechii, SZA, Turnstile, and Tyler, the Creator, each with five nominations. Album of the Year is notable this year because three rap albums are in the running. Best New Artist includes a mix of acts from TikTok, British singer-songwriters, K-pop-adjacent groups, R&B stars, and alt-pop bands performing in English and Spanish.
Performances and tributes
The main ceremony will feature performances from Lady Gaga, Rosé, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Tyler, the Creator, and Clipse with Pharrell Williams. Lauryn Hill will lead a tribute to Roberta Flack and D’Angelo. Post Malone will perform a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. The awards honor music released from August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025.
