Singer Ray J is currently battling serious health problems, leading him to extensive bedrest and a regimen of eight different medications. Medical professionals have indicated that his heart is only operating at sixty percent capacity, and he harbors fears that he may have just months left to live.
Singer Ray J is reportedly on bedrest and taking eight different medications, including Jardiance, Entresto, and Lipitor, as he claims he has only months to live due to severe health struggles. Doctors have advised him to abstain from drinking and smoking as he faces potential pacemaker or defibrillator implantation.
Ray J revealed his dire health prognosis to TMZ on Thursday, stating that his heart is only beating at 60 percent. He previously told his Instagram followers earlier this week that "2027 is definitely a wrap for" him.
"This is black," he said, referencing his heart. "This is, like, done." He attributed his current condition to past substance abuse, noting his previous consumption of "four or five bottles a day" of alcohol and "10 Addys." Ray J stated, "I shouldn’t have went this hard, bro."
"I couldn’t [handle it]. It curved my time here." The singer also expressed concern for his children, saying, "My baby mama [Princess Love] gonna be straight, my kids gonna be straight, if they wanna spend all the money, they can spend it. I did my part here. And damn, when it’s all done, burn me, don’t bury me."
Ray J had previously claimed in a video over the weekend that he had been hospitalized and "almost died." This seemingly relates to a January 7 report by TMZ detailing a severe case of pneumonia and "heart pains." He had a similar serious bout with pneumonia in 2021. "I could handle all the alcohol … all the Adderall … [and] all the drugs."
"As long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right, so thank you for all your prayers," he said on Sunday. The actor is currently unable to see his children due to a criminal protective order. He told TMZ on Thursday that this situation "took [him] down" and "made [him] realize" the necessity of changing his lifestyle.
Ray J was arrested in November 2025 for allegedly pulling a gun on Princess Love during a livestream. He was released the same day after posting $50,000 bail. Ray J and Princess Love are parents to daughter Melody, 7, and son Epik, 5.
He is considering traveling to Haiti for treatment. His follow-up appointment in two weeks will determine if he will receive a pacemaker or defibrillator.
