On Tuesday, Walmart's online services hit a snag, leaving countless shoppers stranded without access to the website or app. This hiccup disrupted not only online purchases but also essential digital services. The outage extended to Sam's Club and delivery drivers, compounding frustrations during the bustling post-holiday shopping season.
Walmart's online operations experienced a significant outage on Tuesday, preventing millions of customers from accessing its website and mobile app for several hours. This disruption occurred during a busy post-holiday period, impacting purchases, account access, and digital services. The outage also affected Sam's Club and delivery driver services, raising concerns about potential delivery delays.

Customers reported widespread access issues, with Downdetector showing over 6000 problem reports in the past 24 hours. Walmart's official help accounts had not issued a public statement addressing the outage. Instead, they were asking affected users for additional information.

The problems began early Tuesday morning across the United States. Customers attempting to take advantage of post-holiday deals and access essential services encountered error messages or pages that failed to load. Many users also reported that the Walmart app repeatedly crashed upon opening.

The disruption extended beyond standard online shopping. Key services such as grocery pickup scheduling were impacted. Entertainment features tied to Walmart’s partnered streaming services were also affected.

Shoppers were unable to purchase everyday essentials, including groceries, electronics, and household items. They could not add products to their carts or proceed through checkout. The timing of the outage intensified customer frustration. Many relied on Walmart’s online platform for New Year’s preparations. Some families reported delays in ordering party supplies. Others missed flash sales promoted for the day.

Walmart’s entertainment hub was also affected. Users were unable to browse or select movies, television shows, or music. The outage cut off access to features that integrate digital entertainment with physical or digital purchases. This limited options for customers during a period of elevated indoor entertainment demand due to winter weather.

Login failures further added to the disruption. Registered users were unable to access their profiles. They could not review order histories, update payment details, or manage subscriptions.

The outage also affected the Sam’s Club website. The Amazon’s Spark Driver service, which manages drivers for Walmart deliveries, was also impacted. This raised the likelihood of delivery delays until the issue is resolved.

As of the latest update, the cause of the outage and a timeline for full service restoration had not been announced.

Is the Walmart website down as well?
