Caitlin Clark had a tense moment during a preseason game, but the Indiana Fever guard later confirmed she was fine after the incident. The Fever were playing against the Dallas Wings on Thursday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which was Clark’s first game there since July 2025.

In the third quarter, Clark attempted a three point shot but was fouled by Alanna Smith. She was not given enough space to land and came down awkwardly, which caused both players to fall. Clark got up with a noticeable limp, worrying fans for a moment. The referees reviewed the play and upgraded the foul to a flagrant 1. Clark remained in the game to take her free throws, making two of three, before being taken out. She did not return after that.

After the game, Clark reassured everyone about her condition. “I feel good … just landed on my kneecap really hard,” she said. Fever coach Stephanie White also confirmed there was no major issue and said the team was being careful. “We had planned for her to come out around that time anyway,” White said.

Clark’s injury history from 2025 has been a concern, as she dealt with multiple soft tissue injuries that limited her to 13 games. These included a leg issue, a quad injury, groin problems and later a bone bruise in her ankle.

The Fever now prepare for their final preseason game on May 2 before opening their regular season on May 9.
