Caitlin Clark returns to Indiana Fever training camp healthy after injury hit 2025 season absence
The Indiana Fever opened training camp in Indianapolis with Caitlin Clark making a welcome return after an injury-hit 2025 season. Clark, who played just 13 games last year, was back on the court for drills at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, signaling her recovery and readiness for the new season. Though her participation was limited, her presence marked an important step forward after months of rehab and setbacks that also kept her out of major events like All-Star weekend.Clark described the mental challenge of being sidelined, saying the experience was isolating but also helped her find new ways to support the team. Now fully fit, she emphasized a smarter approach to managing her body moving forward. The Fever plan to ease her workload early in camp, prioritizing long-term health. With Clark back alongside Aliyah Boston, Indiana enters the season aiming to build momentum and contend strongly.
The Indiana Fever began their training camp on Sunday in Indianapolis, and Caitlin Clark was seen back on the court. Clark joined her teammates for drills at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse and looked comfortable being back in the game after going through a difficult 2025 season filled with injuries.

Even though Clark did not do too much in the open practice it was good to see her be there. Last season was not that great for her because of injuries that ended her year early. Clark played only 13 games last season and missed important events like the All-Star weekend. Despite the personal struggles, Clark stayed with the team and was seen supporting them throughout their games.

“It’s hard, it’s very isolating to come to practice every single day and spend two hours getting treatment and rehab,” Clark said. “You have to find another way to impact the team.”

Being sidelined last season because of the injuries, Clark stayed involved by helping her teammates from the sidelines. She says that the time she spent on the sidelines changed her perspective towards the game and showed her how she can contribute in different ways.

Clark also says she is fully fit again and is ready to go with no limits. The Fever will still be careful with her workload early in camp as they focus on keeping players healthy. Coach Stephanie White made it clear that they will not rush things in the first few days.

During the offseason, Clark stayed busy. She worked in media roles, spent time improving her game, and also played for the U.S. team in a recent tournament, which helped her get back into rhythm.

“I’ve been playing a lot and just love competing,” she said. “But being smarter with my body is the most important thing now.”

Indiana heads into the new season with strong expectations. With Clark back and players like Aliyah Boston leading the team, the Fever will look to build on last year and push even further.
