Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler suffered a torn ACL during Monday night’s win over the Miami Heat at Chase Center. Butler injured his right knee after a collision in the third quarter and was helped off the court. He finished with 17 points before exiting. His agent later confirmed the ACL tear, a major blow for the Warriors as they sit eighth in the Western Conference.

The injury happened during the third quarter of the game when Butler injured his right knee by falling near the basket after colliding with Davian Mitchell. He stayed on the floor for a few minutes, grabbing his knee and screaming in pain, until Steve Kerr, the head coach of the warriors requested a timeout.

His team mates garry Peyton and Buddy Hield, carried him off the field to the locker room since he was not able to put any pressure on his right leg. He walked out of the game after scoring 17 points.

Miami Heat’s Davian Michell was called a foul at the end of the third quarter snd the Warriors' coach Steve Kerr said to the reporters that the updates on butler injury will be given after the MRI scan.

"We're all really concerned, but we'll know more after the MRI. We don't know anything at this point," Kerr said during postmatch.

Butler’s agent confirmed on Tuesday that Butler suffered a torn ACL and will be ruled out of the series.

This is Butler’s second season with the warriors who previously played dates for Butler has experienced so many injuries over the years, including a meniscus tear in 2018 and MCl sprain in 2024.

This injury might affect the warriors further into the season. The Warriors are currently ranked 8th in western conference and won the monday’s match with efforts from Steph Curry and Brandon Padziemski.

The Golden State Warriors are set to play their next game at home against the Toronto Raptors, while the Miami Heat will visit Sacramento.
