LSU breaks own NCAA record with eighth consecutive 100-point game, defeating Washington State 112-35 to win the Paradise Jam championship

LSU defeated Washington State 112-35 in the Paradise Jam championship, breaking their own NCAA record with an eighth consecutive 100-point game. Flau’Jae Johnson led the Tigers with 16 points, while seven players scored in double figures. Amiya Joyner earned MVP honors, posting a double-double. LSU's next challenge is against Duke in the ACC/SEC challenge.

Louisiana Tech University won the Reed Division championship game at the Paradise Jam tournament after defeating the Washington State women’s basketball team. LSU scored a total of 112 while Washington State totaled 35 in Saturday night's game in the Baha Mar Convention Center.

The LSU Tigers broke their own NCAA record and recorded their eighth consecutive100 100-point game. The last record was set during the matchup between Marist on Friday nights, which the Tigers won, scoring 113-53.Previously, the 1982 Louisiana Tech team that won the inaugural NCAA women’s championship set the NCAA record for six straight 100-point games, and Kim Mulkey, the current LSU head coach, was then the starting point guard for the team.

Flau’Jae Johnson led the undefeated LSU, scoring 16 points. She was also one of the first team all Southeastern Conference players for the Tigers this season.

The No. 5-ranked LSU Tigers had 11 of its players post points, including the seven players scoring in double digits.LSU players Grace Knox, Amiya Joyner, MiLaysia Fulwiley, ZaKiyah Johnson, and Mikaylah Williams added 12 points each. Amiya Joyner grabbed 12 rebounds, finishing with a double-double, and was also the most valuable player of the Paradise Jam tournament. Sophomore guard Jada Richard scored 14 points and knocked down 4 three-point shots.LSU had already posted 100 points with time still left in the fourth quarter.

Washington State Cougars guard Charlotte Abraham scored 10 points for the Cougars, making her the only player in double figures for the team.The Cougars' next game is against Brigham Young University on Wednesday in Provo, Utah.

Louisiana Tech will face Duke in Durham in the ACC/SEC challenge game on Thursday.
