Paige Bueckers keeps promise to fan after rock paper scissors game with signed shoes giveaway
Paige Bueckers gave fans a moment to remember before a preseason game as the Dallas Wings guard kept her promise after a fun challenge. Before facing the Indiana Fever, Bueckers walked over to greet fans and sign autographs, something she usually does.
One fan caught her attention with a sign asking to play rock, paper, scissors for her basketball shoes. Bueckers agreed without hesitation and played along. The fan ended up winning the quick game, and Bueckers immediately reacted by saying, “You can have them,” before moving on to continue signing for others. The fan looked shocked after actually winning.
Later in the game, Bueckers delivered a strong performance. She finished with 20 points, three assists and a steal, helping her team in the preseason matchup. But she did not forget about the promise she made earlier.
After the game, Bueckers went back to find the fan and followed through. She took off her game worn Nike GT Cut 3 Turbo sneakers and decided to make the moment even more special by signing them before handing them over. The fan could not believe it and said, “Oh, my God. You're signing them, too?”
Bueckers also made sure to include another fan by giving away the second signed shoe. The simple interaction turned into a wholesome moment and showed why she is loved by fans both on and off the court.
