Co-owner Steve Tisch and his siblings are planning a significant ownership change involving the New York Giants. According to a league memo obtained by The Associated Press, Steve Tisch, Laurie Tisch and Jonathan Tisch have asked the National Football League for approval to transfer their remaining 23.1 percent stake in the franchise into trusts for their children. The Tisch family had already moved part of its ownership shares in 2023 and 2024, and the new plan would complete the transition, leaving the siblings without direct ownership. The move has drawn attention following the release of Jeffrey Epstein related documents by the United States Department of Justice, which mentioned Steve Tisch. He has denied any serious association with Epstein. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will review the matter while continuing to evaluate the ownership request.

Co-owner Steve Tisch and his siblings are planning a major ownership change involving the New York Giants. According to a league memo obtained by The Associated Press, Steve Tisch, Laurie Tisch and Jonathan Tisch have asked the league for approval to move their remaining shares of the team into trusts for their children.

The memo said the Tisch family plans to transfer the final 23.1% stake they still control in the franchise. The family had already shifted part of their ownership in 2023 and 2024. Once this move is complete, the siblings will no longer directly own any portion of the team.

A spokesperson for the Giants declined to comment on the request. ESPN first reported the plan to transfer the shares.

The ownership situation has drawn attention after Steve Tisch’s name appeared many times in files connected to convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein that were released earlier this year by the U.S. Department of Justice. Tisch said he had limited contact with Epstein and strongly denied visiting his private island.

“We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and we also talked about movies, philanthropy and investments,” Tisch said in a statement earlier this year.

Roger Goodell, commissioner of the National Football League, said the league plans to review the information connected to the case.

“Absolutely we will look at all the facts,” Goodell said during a news conference around Super Bowl week.

The Tisch family has been part of the Giants ownership group since 1991. They share control of the team with the Mara family, whose family founded the franchise in 1925. Recently, the Koch family also agreed to buy a 10% stake in the team as part of the organization’s ownership structure.
