Top-ranked Indiana strengthened its roster through the transfer portal ahead of its College Football Playoff semifinal. The unbeaten Hoosiers added former TCU quarterback Josh Hoover and ex-Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh. Hoover brings experience as a multi-year starter, while Marsh adds a proven receiving threat. Indiana also expects former Boston College running back Turbo Richard to help replace departing rushers as it prepares to face Oregon in the Peach Bowl.

The Top-ranked Indiana is adding key players from the transfer portal ahead of its College Football Playoff semifinal. According to people familiar with the move, the unbeaten Hoosiers have landed two top players from the transfer portal, with one of them being former TCU quarterback Josh Hoover. The AP press reported on Sunday that Indiana has also landed former Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh, as the other player.

Hoover is expected to step into a major role after Mendoza’s exit. The quarterback was a starter for the Horned Frogs and recorded a 19-12 record in his two and a half seasons with TCU. He completed over 65% of his passes in his college career, throwing for more than 9,600 yards with 71 touchdowns. In 2025 alone, Hoover passed for 3,472 yards and 29 touchdowns, while also adding eight career rushing scores.

Nick Marsh adds another advantage to Indiana’s offense. The 6-foot-3 receiver caught 100 passes for 1,311 yards and nine touchdowns during his two seasons at Michigan State. He set school freshman records in 2024 and is expected to replace Elijah Sarratt, who delivered several clutch touchdowns this season for the Indiana Hoosiers.

Indiana also continues to reshape its backfield, with reports saying that former Boston College running back Turbo Richard is joining the program. Richard rushed for 749 yards and had nine touchdowns in the 11 games he played last season. Richard joining the team might help Indiana offset the loss of its two rushers.

The Hoosiers are 14-0 this season and are preparing to face No. 5-ranked Oregon in the Peach Bowl on Friday night, and are looking for a spot in the national championship game, which is on January 19.

Other Big Ten teams are also adding players from the transfer portal to address key needs heading into next season.
