UConn maintains No. 1 ranking as undefeated teams prepare for major tests in Las Vegas tournament

UConn stays No. 1 in the AP poll after edging Michigan, with Azzi Fudd scoring 31 points. South Carolina, UCLA, and Texas remain undefeated and join Duke in the Players’ Era Championship. LSU holds fifth, and Michigan stays sixth. Maryland, TCU, Oklahoma, and Iowa State round out the top 10. The SEC leads conferences with eight ranked teams.
UConn women’s basketball team, which remains undefeated so far into the season after nearly losing to Michigan in its last game, keeps its No.1 position in the Associated Press top 25 women’s basketball poll.
The UConn Huskies, fueled by Azzi Fudd’s 31 points, defeated the No. 2-ranked Michigan on 22 nd November in the Naismith Hall of Fame women’s showcase. Out of 32, the Huskies received 30 votes from the national media panel to remain in first place.
Following UConn, South Carolina, UCLA, and Texas also remain undefeated and are ranked as the top four teams. These three teams will compete in the Players' Era Championship this week in Las Vegas, along with Duke, which is no longer receiving votes after its loss to South Florida last week. UCLA will play Texas while South Carolina and Duke face each other on Wednesday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
LSU, which set a new Southeastern Conference record by recording more than 100 points in six straight games, remains in fifth place. The Wolverines also stayed at no. 6 after missing a win over the defending champions UConn Huskies.
The other teams in the top 10 include Maryland, TCU, Oklahoma, and Iowa State, which appear in the top 10 for the first time this season.
