USA women’s senior team invites 18 players to December training camp at Duke led by new coach Kara Lawson
The USA women’s senior basketball team has invited 18 players to a December 12–14 training camp at Duke University, with 10 newcomers making their debut. Duke coach and newly appointed Team USA coach Kara Lawson will lead the camp, joined by three court coaches. Rising stars and seasoned Olympians will train together as managing director Sue Bird evaluates talent ahead of the FIBA World Cup.
The USA women’s Senior basketball team announced the 18 players who have been invited to participate in the national training camp next month. Out of the 18 players invited, 10 will be making their senior national team camp debut. The training camp will be held at Duke University campus from December 12-14.

Paige Bueckers, Cailtin Clark, and Angel Reese are among the newcomers who are set to debut.

The training camp will be led by the head coach Duke women’s basketball team, Kara Lawson, who was recently appointed as Team USA coach. Alongside Lawson, the Valkyries’ coach Natalie Nakase, Fever’s coach Stephanie White, and Mercury’s coach Nate Tibbets will act as court coaches.

Cameron Brink, Veronica Burton, Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen, and Rickeya Jackson are some of the players who will be attending the camp for the first time. Juju Watkins from the University of Southern California, who is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury during last season's match madness game, will also be joining the camp, along with UCLA’s Lauren Betts. Watkins will not participate in court as she continues to recover from the injury, but will have the opportunity to work with and learn from the players and coaches in attendance while at the camp.

The newcomers will be joined by former Olympians and World Cup gold medalists Brittney Griner, Chelsea Gray, Dearica Hamby, Jackie Young, Kahleah Cooper, and Kelsey Plum. Aliyah Boston and Brianna Jones, who have represented the USA in various junior and senior competitions, are also in attendance.

Sue Bird, the managing director of the USA women’s national team, will evaluate the camp and will name a team for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
