Jaden Smith has been named men’s creative director at Christian Louboutin and will move to Paris to begin his new role. The 27-year-old actor and musician will lead design, campaigns, and events for the men’s division, which has faced declining sales. His first collection will debut in January 2026 during Paris men’s fashion week.
Jaden Smith, actor, musician, and fashion icon, is relocating to Paris as the men’s creative director of the luxury footwear and accessories house of Christian Louboutin. This appointment, confirmed on Wednesday by Women’s Wear Daily, marks a critical step in the brand's attempt to rejuvenate its men’s division.

Smith, 27, will oversee the creative side of men’s shoes, leather goods, and accessories. He will also lead campaign development, event planning, and immersive brand experiences. Founder Christian Louboutin will continue to guide the men’s business overall but said Smith will direct its creative future. Smith’s first collection is scheduled to debut in Paris in January during men’s fashion week, with the role expected to cover four collections annually.

A Star Studded Appointment

"This is among the greatest privileges of my life, and I have a tremendous amount of pressure to be able to live up to all that Christian has accomplished for the house," Smith explained to Women's Wear Daily. The actor son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, he highlighted the gravity of the position and his desire to advance the label.

Louboutin characterized Smith as the only candidate for the role, commending his vision and cultural impact. “He has a way of seeing things, of digesting things, of transforming that really connects with my way of functioning,” Louboutin said.

A Business in Transition

The move follows Christian Louboutin's men's business struggling. While the segment generates 24 percent of the company's revenues, sales have dropped in the last few years. The house is pinning its hopes on Smith's imagination and worldwide appeal — he has close to 20 million Instagram followers — to revive the category.

Louboutin said the move will also enable him to spend more time focusing on the brand's women's business, which continues to be its biggest revenue generator.

Celebrity Engagement into Fashion Legacy

Smith has long been famous for his fashion-forward experimentation, combining streetwear and couture and bucking the rules of gender. His appointment is not merely a business decision, but a cultural fusion with younger consumers who value innovation and inclusiveness.

Industry watchers point out celebrity-driven appointments are becoming more common as luxury brands attempt to marry traditional craftsmanship with pop culture appeal. "Smith's global celebrity puts him in a role to attract new customers to the brand without undermining the brand's cultural signature," said Paris-based fashion consultant Marta González.

Next Steps

His tenure will officially commence this fall, with the debut collection scheduled for January, while Christian Louboutin representatives did not respond to requests for comment made by The Associated Press.
