Bad Bunny will livestream the final show of his Puerto Rico residency on Sept. 20 through Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch, offering free global access. The residency has boosted Puerto Rico’s economy, spotlighted its cultural identity, and coincides with the anniversary of Hurricane Maria. Amazon also announced new initiatives with the singer to support local businesses and communities.
Those who cannot come to Puerto Rico to experience Bad Bunny’s residency will always retain that being the one chance. The Puerto Rican superstar now revealed that the last show of his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” (“I Don’t Want to Leave Here”) residency on Sept. 20 will be livestreamed to the entire world by Amazon free on Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch from 8:30 p.m. ET.

The streaming closure will thus bring the curtain down on Bad Bunny’s prestigious 30-show residency in San Juan that began in July and has won throngs of fans from afar. Nine of the shows were specifically kept for Puerto Rican residents. The closing concert will be of the same notion of exclusivity for locals in attendance as we mark the eighth anniversary of Hurricane Maria. The storm of 2017 devastated the island, displacing more than 100,000 people while deeply scarring the island in terms of road, economy, and infrastructure.

Economic and Cultural Impact
Bad Bunny's engagement has been announced as an economic boon for the island of Puerto Rico. Increased revenues flowed into hotels, restaurants, and into various local businesses, according to the Puerto Rican department of tourism, as visitors descended by the thousands. In ample measure, the events threw cultural identity, political status, energy shortages, and gentrification back at the center of public debate.

The singer-sensation had long been using his platform to speak about many Puerto Rican issues, from colonial legacies to environmental susceptibilities. Of course, his new record, Debí Tirar Más Fotos ("I Should Have Taken More Photos"), continues that tradition, modern-day reggaeton with a mixture of traditional Caribbean flavor and standing up for both displacement and resilience.

Amazon Partnership

Along with streaming the concert, Amazon also announced an agreement spanning multiple years with Bad Bunny for the express purpose of aiding communities in Puerto Rico. Other initiatives include an internet storefront named "comPRa Local" to promote products made in Puerto Rico, and investments in educational programs in technology and food security across the island.

"We are very proud of this partnership because it transforms music into tangible and long-lasting change for the island," stated Rocío Guerrero, Amazon Music's director of music for Latin-Iberia.

Looking Ahead

Bad Bunny's residency finale will still be within reach for fans who cannot attend in person in Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican international icon revealed that the final performance of his "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" ("I Don't Want to Leave Here") residency on Sept. 20 will be livestreamed worldwide by Amazon, which will provide free access to all Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The livestream brings an end to Bad Bunny's 30-concert residency in San Juan, which kicked off in July and drew thousands of fans from all over, including many from overseas. Nine of the concerts were held only for Puerto Rican residents. The final concert will also be for locals in attendance, happening to fall on the eighth anniversary of Hurricane Maria. The 2017 hurricane devastated the island, displacing over 100,000 individuals and placing a permanent stamp on its economy and infrastructure.
